ADEGBOYEGA OJO
Senior Research Fellow and E-Government Unit Leader

At Insight his research and development work addresses how public organizations can effectively leverage Linked Open Government Data for public service and policy innovation. Before his current role, he worked as Academic Program Officer and Research Fellow at the Center for Electronic Governance, United Nations University – International Institute for Software Technology (UNU).

Research Associate

Lukasz has been working in DERI earlier during an internship from July to September 2007 and from March to October 2008. He has been working as a Research Assistant from November 2008 to March 2010.

ARKADIUSZ STASIEWICZ
Research Assistant

Arkadiusz Stasiewicz is a Research Assistant at INSIGHT @ NUI Galway. Arkadiusz’s research interests include Open Data, social media and statistical data analytics as well as Big Data integration. He has joined the eGoverment domain at INSIGHT in September 2013 and worked on Puzzled By Policy e-Participation project (founded as part of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) ). Since November 2013 he is working on Open Cubeproject. Previously he has worked as a web developer and software developer in a number of projects.

SONYA ABBAS
Research Assistant

Sonya is Research Assistant involved in different EU projects. Her research focuses on analysing data and visualisation. She is interested in understanding the data lifecycle: from raw data to extract values and knowledge. This passion for data science drives her research in E-gov unit. She applies different techniques during her work such as text analysis, machine learning, statistics, regression models, data mining and exploratory data analysis. She has Masters in Knowledge Discovery in Data Bases and also a Research Masters in Geo-spatial data and Semantic Web. Before Insight, she worked as a software engineer.

MOHAMMAD WAQAR
Research Associate

Mohammad Waqar is an an experienced software developer with exposure to both commercial and research environments. Since his postgraduate studies he has been actively involved in research and development activates related to web, semantic web and big data technologies. He has successfully implemented software applications ranging form embedded systems to large-scale web applications. He has remained one of the main contributors to the design and implementation of Open Data Publishing Pipeline (ODDP) , SmarterData platform funded by Enterprise Ireland and Social Media Linked Data Space (SMLDS) as part of Linked2Media FP7 project. His research interests include Big Data Analytics, Information Retrieval, Integration and Visualization of Linked Data.

FATEMEH AHMADI ZELETI
Ph.D. Researcher

She is a researcher in e-Government unit at Insight Centre for Data Analytics (formerly Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), NUI Galway. At Insight Centre for Data Analytics, her research addresses the problems exist in Open Data Industry in general and Business Models in specific. Her research is not limited to this but, she is also heavily involved in PaaSport Project – the European project developing semantically-enhanced marketplace of interoperable platform-as-a-service offerings for the deployment and migration of business applications of SMEs and Share-PSI 2.0 – the European network for the exchange of experience and ideas around implementing open data policies in the public sector.

EDOBOR OSAGIE
Research Assistant

Prior to joining the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, I worked for a couple of years as a Cost Analyst for Merit Medical Ireland – an American Multinational company engaged in the manufacture of medical equipment. I have interest in multi-disciplinary expertise so I spend a few years to obtain post grad masters in Business Strategy/Innovation Management and also in Information Systems Management.

Here in Insight Centre, I am engaged in the e-gov research specifically concerned with the business/public sector application of the technologies especially as regards to EU project from H2020.

Research Assistant

I’m a curious researcher, web and mobile developer; obsessed with the new technology, I like discovering it and enjoy utilizing it to add new values, My total experience has helped me to have insights in both industrial and research work. I have worked independently, within teams and with project partners across Europe, in diverse set of topics such as linked data, ontology engineering, named entity recognition, data engineering, ETL and more.

NIALL O BROLCHAIN
Research Associate

Niall has over 20 years experience in the IT industry and was a pioneer in the use of the World Wide Web and the Internet. He has also spent 10 years inside Government at a local and national level. He served as Mayor of Galway from 2006-07 and was a member of Seanad Eireann until 2011 where he served as spokesperson on Communications Energy and Natural Resources..

He is passionate about Open Government, the Environment and Heritage.

Samuel is a MSC graduate of information system management at NUI Galway, he joined Insight at April 2015 as an intern. Currently, a research assistant providing project support and testing under the E-GOVERNMENT unit.

DEIRDRE LEE
Research Associate

Deirdre is currently technical co-ordinator of the eGovernment Domain Unit. Her main activities are:
Co-ordinator of the EC CIP ICT-PSP project ‘Puzzled by Policy: Helping you be part of the EU’.
Member of the EC CIP ICT-PSP project ‘Rural Inclusion: relieving the administrative burden of rural SMEs through innovative and semantic eGov services, training tools and methods’.
Member of the EC eParticipation Preparatory Action project ‘WAVE: Welcoming Argument Visualisation to Europe’.
Her main research interests include eParticipation, Open Government, collaboration systems, and semantic and social technologies.
