The TransformingTransport project will demonstrate, in a realistic, measurable, and replicable way the transformations that Big Data will bring to the mobility and logistics market. To this end, TransformingTransport validates the technical and economic viability of Big Data to reshape transport processes and services to significantly increase operational efficiency, deliver improved customer experience, and foster new business models.

The mission of BDVe is to support the Big Data Value PPP in realizing a vibrant data-driven EU economy or said in other words, BDVe will support the implementation of the PPP to be a SUCCESS. Behind that mission, there are multiple goals to achieve, which should be taken into full consideration when defining the directions of the PPP.

The Urban Sustainability Ecosystem work package aims to help city managers to address the challenges with designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a Smart City Sustainability Ecosystem (SCSE). The research focuses on the technical challenges with delivering the necessary infrastructure, services, and data to support sustainability models that assist city stakeholders and “Things” (buildings, campuses, neighbourhoods, industrial parks, etc.) within a City to identify and quantify the environmental impacts and benefits of their activities.

Completed Projects

The key problem addressed in WATERNOMICS is the lack of water information, management and decision support tools that present meaningful and personalized information about usage, price, and availability of water in an intuitive and interactive way to end users. This introduces limitations in the efforts to manage water as a resource.

The BYTE project will assist European science and industry in capturing the positive externalities and diminishing the negative externalities associated with big data in order to gain a greater share of the big data market by 2020.

Sense Project

SENSE was a research and innovation project investigating an energy management system for small commercial buildings. SENSE empowered building occupants to actively engage in energy saving.

Big Data Public Private Forum (BIG) was working towards the definition and implementation of a clear strategy that tackles the necessary efforts in terms of research and innovation, while also it provided a major boost for technology adoption and supporting actions for the successful implementation of the Big Data economy.
